With four proprietary 12” speakers, the THD 4x12 exceeds the harmonic richness of our 2x12 cabinet while providing efficiency and dispersion better suited to stage use.

Unlike any other cabinet on the market, the THD 4x12 uses a special combination of speakers and construction features such as a tuned port and diffusers in the center of each driver. The combination of the THD Longhorn and Vintage speakers in an X configuration gives the cabinet a wonderfully complex and 3-dimensional sound. The tuned port permits the THD 4x12 to be more efficient than any open-back or sealed cabinets with much tighter bottom-end response.

The diffusers built into the speaker baffle completely eliminate the “beamy” characteristic, which all other 4x12 cabinets suffer from. Due to the interaction of 4 speakers in a square configuration, all other 4x12 cabinets tend to deafen the people who are dead center in front of it while leaving everyone else wondering why they can’t hear the guitar. THD’s unique diffusers reflect the top-end that comes off of the center of the cone, reflect it back to the speaker and back out at an angle so that it fills the room better than any other 4x12 cabinet. The result is stunning and immediately obvious to the player and the audience.

Also, unlike most 4x12 cabinets, the THD 4x12 is equally complimentary to clean and overdriven sounds, and its phase-coherent design means that complex chords still maintain their clarity. The THD 4x12 also has great transient response for fast attack and an extremely high level of detail in the sound. Furthermore, all of THD’s speakers are chemically aged at the factory so that they sound warm and broken-in from day one.

The THD 4x12 cabinet is made in the USA of 18mm thick 13-ply Baltic Birch plywood with a special combination of complex interlocking dado joints in the X, Y and Z axes, assuring that all of the individual pieces of wood that make up the cabinet fully lock to each other in the most solid manner possible. This construction method provides more stiffness and more glue area han either dovetail or finger joints.
